Meet Christian Crews,  the founder of Crews Wine.

His journey into wine didn’t begin in a vineyard, but in the fragrance industry over 20 years ago—where he trained his nose and developed a deep appreciation for nuance, balance, and complexity. That sensory foundation, paired with curiosity, led him to take a Sommelier Level I course in 2006… and that was it—he was hooked.

What began as fascination quickly became pursuit. Between 2006 and 2011, Christian immersed himself in amateur winemaking, refining his understanding from the ground up. This hands-on experience ultimately led him to pursue a Winemaking Certificate from UC Davis, further cementing his commitment to the craft.

Though his professional path took him through various industries, wine was never far behind. It remained a constant—studied, tasted, and respected—until 2022, when he made the decisive move to turn a lifelong passion into a full-time endeavor. Crews Wine was born from that moment: a focused mission to bring distinctive, small-production wines to the U.S. market, with an emphasis on mountain and coastal terroirs that express both place and character.

Christian’s journey reflects a deep and unwavering dedication to the world of wine—equal parts discipline, curiosity, and obsession with what he likes to call “the mysterious and fascinating world of fermented grape juice.”

As an oenophile first and foremost, Christian personally curates every bottle in the portfolio, ensuring each one earns its place through authenticity, quality, and story.
